Petite Meller is one of 2015's most hotly-tipped and divisive artists. The French singer and MA philosophy student presents herself in a lolita-esque fashion with lyrics referencing Freud and Nietzche.
Petite Meller's ‘Baby Love‘ Video Explores Europe's Fascination with Africa
The music video for Baby Love was filmed in a village in Kenya and at the Giraffe Manor outside of Nairobi, which has become famous for its giraffes that join guests for breakfast by peering their heads through the windows. During the 3:53 long video, Meller takes part in a dance party with local children, imitates a flamingo and suggestively straddles a table while giraffes bob their heads either side of her.
Meller's style consists of short dresses, excessive amount of rouge and a child-like demeanour that when combined creates a rather arresting image. She has built up a team of collaborators around the globe through social media and frequently casts “real people” in her videos.
Baby Love is currently charting in the Top 40 in a number of European countries and has been remixed by Armand Van Helden. Give the video a view and let us know what you think in the comments.
